Irish Flora
*** Update: Jan 2017
Adding photo is taking alot longer then fits anticipated, especially trying to get all the photos etc to snap into place. I now have the majority (60%?) of widflowers I photographed last summmer up- discounting species I ID'd but did not photograph. Over the Christmas break I managed to do a a decent bit of bryophyting done so I will be adding them over the next few weeks. Sedges and grasses, bar a few species I have not photographed too many of. Thus they and lichens + ferns will be focused on alot more in 2017. (I just got Paul Wheelan's book on Lichens of Ireland- so far so good and is very accessible with good photos). As I have taken so many lichen photos already I may upload the photos in the mean time and just add their name below afterwards. |
Update: (October 2016)
Originally when I started adding wildflowers to this I grouped them by habitat. (eg. coastal) However since becoming familiar and ID'ing so many species it is much easier to group them by family, as in the field I would recognise plants by features that were common within their family. Also grouping purely haitats can be a little hard as many plants can be found in a variety |
